Visiting Lyme Regis Medical Centre

Parking and Accessibility
  • Dedicated Patient Parking: We offer a private car park located directly on the grounds of the medical centre.

⚠️ Parking Notice: The spaces directly in front of the practice are reserved for patients with disabilities and mobility issues. Please use the main parking bays. Thank you.

  • Disabled Parking Provision: Dedicated, wheelchair-accessible parking bays are available close to the entrance. A prominent disabled parking sign is displayed to ensure these spaces are kept clear for those with limited mobility. Please ensure you display a valid Blue Badge when using these bays.

Call us if you have any questions about accessing Lyme Regis Medical Centre.

Important information if travelling by car

Please Park Considerately Because space is limited, we kindly ask all patients to park considerately within the marked bays. Please ensure your vehicle does not block the entrance, emergency access routes, or other parked cars. Keeping these areas clear is vital for ambulances and patients with urgent medical needs.

Peak Times & Space Constraints: Due to the physical layout and space constraints of our town-centre location, our dedicated parking area has a limited number of spaces. The car park can become exceptionally busy during peak clinic hours.

Plan Ahead: We highly recommend allowing a few extra minutes before your scheduled appointment time to secure a parking space.

Alternative Travel: If you live nearby or are able to use public transport, please consider doing so to help keep spaces free for our more vulnerable patients. The medical centre is situated on a main route, with public bus stops located directly outside our main gates.

Travelling by public transport

If you are traveling by bus, the medical centre is conveniently located on Uplyme Road, with dedicated bus stops situated directly outside the practice gates:

  • Lyme Regis Medical Centre Stop (South-East Bound) – located directly outside.
  • Opposite Medical Centre Stop (North-West Bound) – located across the road.

Regular Bus Routes

The practice is served by several local and regional routes that stop outside our main gates, including:

  • First Bus Coastliner (X51 & X53): Connecting Lyme Regis to Axminster Railway Station, Dorchester, Bridport, and Weymouth.
  • Axe Valley Mini Travel (378 / 897 / 924): Providing local travel connections to and from Seaton, Beer, Uplyme, and Colyford.

The Lyme Link Town Bus Service (Free Community Minibus)

For local residents looking for a stress-free way to reach their appointments without worrying about car parking, we highly recommend the Lyme Link.

Fully funded by the Lyme Regis Town Council, the Lyme Link is a completely free community transport service operating a 16-seater minibus. It connects the medical centre directly with local neighbourhoods, making it incredibly easy for patients to access our services.

  • Operating Days: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (excluding Bank Holidays).
  • Operating Hours: The service runs throughout the day between 9:00am and 3:30pm.
  • Key Route Stops: The bus links the town centre and local residential areas directly to our front door. Its route includes stops at:
    • Broad Street (Town Centre)

    • Lyme Regis Medical Centre (arriving multiple times throughout the morning and afternoon)

    • Hallett Court

    • Anning Road

    • Woodberry Down & Garmans Field housing estates

  • Accessibility Note: Please be aware that only registered assistance dogs are permitted on board this service.

Plan Your Route: You can view the live, updated timetable directly on the Lyme Regis Town Council website.. We recommend checking the timetable when booking your appointments on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday to time your arrival perfectly
