Dr Forbes G. Watson
MBChB MRCGP DRCOG DFFP
Dr Watson is a Graduate of the University of Glasgow and subsequently worked in Scotland, Cornwall and Australia before moving to Dorset in 1997. He is the Principal GP at Lyme Bay Medical Practice and his areas of special interest include cardiology and mental health.
He has worked with Primary Care Groups and Primary Care Trusts since their inception and currently holds the position of Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group Chair.
Dr Watson is usually available for appointments on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursday afternoons and Fridays.
Mrs Sally Cable
RGN BSc (Hons) Health Studies
Sally is our senior practice nurse/nurse prescriber as well as being a general nurse. Sally is a former midwife and can offer a full range of Women’s Health Services including antenatal and postnatal support, family planning, menopausal advice and smears. In addition she can perform bladder scanning so can offer a full continence advice and support service She also has further training and expertise in management of long term conditions including diabetes, asthma, COPD and hypertension. Minor illness training is a further area where she has extended skills so uses these to offer same day urgent access and Friday afternoon open access at the practice. She also undertakes some home visits.
A very significant change has been the ability of nurses to prescribe drugs. Sally has completed a specialist course which enables her to work as an Independent Prescriber. She is therefore permitted to prescribe any drugs within her wide area of competence.
This includes antibiotics, painkillers, inhalers, blood pressure drugs, contraceptive pills etc.
In her spare time sally spends time with her family and walking her two dogs. Currently she is teaching her son to drive!
Mrs Anita Boydon
RN DiP HC
Anita has many years training in Emergency Medicine and General Practice. She also can provide advice for long term conditions, women’s and children’s health including smears. Health checks, carer support and coordination of palliative care in the practice. She will soon complete additional training in minor illness.
Anita will be working Monday to Friday and will offer many services to include blood test, immunisation, new patient and health checks, wound care, ear syringes travel advice, blood pressure monitoring, wound dressing, smears, INR monitoring, B12, zoladex, prostap, well person checks, asthma reviews and continence assessments.
In her spare time Anita can be seen walking her two dogs
Mrs Sarah Hill
Sarah has worked at Kent House for 10 years whilst also running a pub in Axmouth with her husband and two children.
Miss Joanna Churchill
Jo has worked at the practice for two years, having worked in the veterinary industry for 12 years before. Jo recently moved from the dental to the medical department.
Mrs Jane Mansergh
Jane is Married and has four grown up children living away from Lyme Regis. She has a dog and her hobbies include gardening, walking and sailing when the weather allows.
Mrs Shirley Salter
Shirley has been at the surgery for 11 years. She is married with 3 children and 2 grandchild. She has 1 horse and 2 dogs.
On her days off Shirley spends her time gardening, reading or walking her 2 dogs.
Ms Alison Souttar
Alison has worked at the surgery for 9 years, having previously worked at an estate agents and solicitors. She has 4 children and 9 grandchildren. When not at the surgery, Alison spends her time traipsing around the muddy country side with her two labrador’s. Her interests include the theatre, hill walking and reading.
